Hi all. Long time lurker, first time poster. If this is in the wrong forum, please forgive.

I was wondering if anyone was familiar with the current/last-gen Dev Units for the Xbox.

Prior to this week, I had only ever seen the Xbox One X dev units (below). It's a sleek unit, and one of the sleekest devs in my opinion.

A part of me wishes all consoles came with an OLEDscreen panel with FPS readouts on the front.

I'm curious if anyone here is personally familiar with this unit, or more interestingly, it's gray and newer-gen counterpart.

I caught this on Ebay a day ago. It's largely the same unit, but they seem to be all BNIB so it's hard to see what the front fascia looks like.

It seems like the Gray is newer gen since it's a 2020 MFG date.

What differences are there between the Gray and the White?
Does the gray also spot the nifty screen?

It shows system stats like load and current FPS. They're OLED too.

I am really surprised so many of the Series X kits have been popping up on ebay, most of them brand new. Even more surprised Microsoft isnt trying to have them taken down.

The white one should have 24gb ram is 60fps and the new gray one is 40gb ram is 119.8fps.

I actually picked up one of the units, but I've not turned it on quite yet.

I'm worried about blacklisting it.

Is there anything particularly cool you can do with retail games on this vs the regular X1X?

Without an active license, you can even do less than with a retail unit.

Afaik you can't play retail games.
