I'm pretty sure I saw some thread or something on Assembler about an Arduino/RasPi-based ROM dumper and schematics/instructions, but I haven't found it. Does anyone know if such a thing exists or am I losing my mind?

Are you looking to dump prototype cartridges?

Just in case I ever acquire one :)
If that is the ultimate goal, you're going to need to make sure that sanni's cart reader is now able to dump N64 protos. Something could have changed, but at least as of late last year, that reader isn't capable of dumping N64 prototypes - retail carts dump, though.

I think this device can dump N64 prototypes:
and I know that the old method of using a correct model of GameShark Pro with a parallel port does, too.

Nice save. Thanks! It doesn't seem to be accepting orders at this time unfortunately... Could you explain to me the "Gameshark" method though?

This video should cover it:

It's a slow method. You'll want to do a few redumps to make sure you're generating an accurate dump since I know the time I used this method to backup the single N64 prototype I dumped, some of the generated ROM files were no good.
