Dreamcast Sega Dreamcast CN601 test points?

Assume I want to bypass the ribbon cable connecting the Dreamcast mainboard to the controller daughter board and solder them together directly with some wire. Looking at this site:

not all 20 pins of the breakout connection from the mainboard are exposed as test points. Is it not necessary to wire up those pins on the port? Or are the labeled as something else?

You could solder to the pins of the connector? Or remove the connector and solder to the pads? All of the pins are necessary, you might be able to use a single GND or 5V wire. Here's the test points
