Recently got a few OEM 40gb HDDs pulled from Ps2 Test consoles. The units were used with the network adapters- what are the odds anything of meaningful information is stored on them, and what’s the best way to check?

I already tried connecting one to a PC with an USB cable and nothing shows up.

Make a complete dump of each hdd on your computer using raw hdd copy tool under Windows or dd under linux first.

To check what's inside, try hdldump or hdl2/hdlrescue/hldrecovery to list partitions, it should work.
Or use uLaunchelf/wLaunchelf on a PS2 to look at the partitions, but after dumping the drives.
