You need to use master patched disc. Retail disc won't work
The laser can be replaced with KHS-400C.
Check network configuration setting in web browser.

1. You need to create it on your own.
2. Check the connection information displayed on the PS2 side, then make changes to your network card connection settings accordingly.

well i made sure my ps2 was setup accordingly, i have a Ethernet going directly from the back of the tool to my host computer, my Ethernet port is shared and i even had my port on my computer set to a static IP.

Which ethernet port are you connecting to? There is the one for the PC side and another for the PS2 side.
PS2 disc patcher should do the job.

Try the following:
1. Use broadcast ping to find the PC card
2. Look on the DHCP server (if your network is setup with one) to find the allocated IP address for the PC card
3. Put the attached network card as the same subnet as the PC card
4. Check the network speed is 100Mbps full duplex; if not, set it manually

if the drive is kaput, how easy is it to source a new one because i know theres no radio shack for dev kits
It uses the same drive assembly as the SCPH-1x000 models, only difference is the bezel on the tray which is swappable. The laser is a khs 400a. I have used a khs 400b laser successfully. Just be careful with the drive ribbon cable. A buddy of mine had his get torn. That was a major headache because we couldn’t get a replacement

Well I don't know for sure but I think the drive gas issues because everytime I start my machine, I get a floppy drive error 40 and I think thats the DVD drive since there is no floppy drive on this machine.

Sounds like the cmos battery on the PC side died so the bios reset to default settings, has nothing to do with the dvd drive on the ps2 side. Most pc bioses back then would default to floppy drive boot when they loose their settings even if there isn’t one installed

Well it was originally flipping back and forth from floppy drive error 40 and 80 and the words cmos checksum under it now I don't get the cmos checksum but still get error 40.

There is no floppy drive installed.
If you get cmos checksum error replace the PC side battery.
Once that is done, go into the setup menu (the key to mash should be listed on the screen while POST is being done).
Disable everything except serial (rs-232), PCI, and hard drive. Make sure hard drive is on the top of the boot priority and set to autodetect.
Save the setting then reboot.

For the semaphore id error, be sure to disable semaphore count check. (See the dsnet reference included in official PS2 SCE SDK for more details. You can find the link to that somewhere on this website)

Most games will not boot due to differences between the software contained in the flash ROM of the DTL-T10000 and the SDK the game was compiled with. In that case, enable the flag to reboot using the IOP libraries from SDK 1.3.4.

i disabled the floppy disc controller and it changed the error code from 40 to 80. as for the rest i cant seem to find or know what you mean. im very knew to this system so i am self teaching myself this. as for the semaphore id issue, this pic is the only time it got that far, each time after that with the same disc, it tells me its not a ps2 disc and that a unknown disc is detected.
