I'm criticizing the absurd buyers premium. Barrett Jackson isn't even that expensive.

Maybe 20% is a little high for such a high selling price, but as long as everything's clear upfront I don't see the issue. The seller could've gone elsewhere and the bidders are well aware of the fees in advances.

350k so far. (Thought it said 360k earlier.) I'm wondering if he's going to get more than the 1.25 mil he was allegedly offered. Well, auctions tend to get crazy near the end right?

Palmer Luckey, the current highest bidder, has said he'd outbid everyone no matter what. So yeah, I'm thinking of bidding 1M USD just for bragging rights.

Yeah the whole thing will probably get really interesting in the last few seconds. I'm already looking forward to the price explosion :)

And if he decides 1 mil is too steep after you bid? :P

Interesting. I didnt know you could retract a bid
Don't quote me on that.

But I assume they prefer someone retracting a bid before the live event than someone defaulting on the payment.

Bidding ended at $280,000 ($336,000 buyer's premium) Not enough attention? Not Enough care? Over-hyped? It's strange to see a final number on a dream some of us have been chasing for nearly 30 years.

EDIT: WTF?! I screen captured the remaining 1 second of the auction as well as the message stating the auction has ended but going back to the page it looks as if the auction is still going.

SOLD for $300K + $60K HA's buyer fee = $360K total out of pocket for the buyer.

Terry is probably crying by rejecting the 1.2M offer and expecting 2m for his plastic.

Source of 1.2m offer (you can find many more on your own)

HA auction here (you need an account to see the sold price):

This is how I'd be feeling if I turned down a $1.2 million offer and got 1/4 of that at auction...

SOLD for $280K + $80K HA's buyer fee = $360K total out of pocket for the buyer.
Afaict the BP is 20% so that's $300k for the item + 60k on top. But meh, peanuts.
