It's actually kind of hypocritical, they say Cody didn't dump in interest of "cash money". Does it not seem like Nicks goal to buy it to make a 'hot video' is basically exactly that?
 
He didnt really blame it on cody...then again, he called him his rival.

Well, buying something expensive to release it to the public...by promoting your steps with such a "hot video"...ya, feels a bit like a bragging samaritian...

Im sure Nick had (the best) intentions...apart from blaming his rival...

Anyway, this McDonalds ROM now has a bittersweet background attached to it, that noone will ever be able to fix.
 
From memory of watching it I don't recall Nick himself really badmouthing cody. It does seem some people have gotten a real shady impression of him from it though, which isn't cool at all.
 
I was involved into this ROM examination from the beginning and already had my hands on it.

I dont want to extend this mess, but calling cody a rival ? Cody worked hard on making this ROM playable...
...and yes, Nick covered that story in his video as well.

But no matter how carefully Nick tried to focus the view of/on cody...this forum and the youtube comments did,
what should not have hapened. Cody is the a$$ now for many of the commenting people. And thats truly bad.
Thanks to the video and thanks to the ignorant people watching it.

No offense, but NOT watching the video, would not make this situation unhappen.
 
I have found a secret store layout screen where you can move mcdonalds equipment around like little blocks.
You cant save that layout and I believe the developers forgot to remove it, but it is funny.
Apart from that, I also found a hidden soundtest menu, created action replay ds codes to switch to different player in game, to show answers for mcdonalds challenge, boot to the sound test menu, secret store layout and some more.
I also figured out alot of the savefile format and am able to modify the savefile at will and create valid checksums too.
I am also the one who figured out there is a mastercode (0QKDE9) that you can use as a serial code for any mac,manager and store id combo. When inputting the serial code in the game, it first checks if the serial matches the generated serial and if not, it checks if it is the mastercode.

There is one thing I don't have though, which is the eCDP Manual, does anyone have that?
 
Wow, saving the layout is possible too! Stored in profile and loaded too
 
Accessing the BGM Test and Store Layout menus
  • Locate offset 00012BC0 via a hex editor such as CT2 or HxD
  • Change the hex string '33 00 A0 03' to '35 00 A0 03' to access the BGM Menu on boot
  • Change the same hex string to '2B 00 A0 03' to access the Store Layout Editor on boot
Action Replay Codes
  • 0200EBC0 03A00035 - BGM Menu
  • 0200EBC0 03A0002B - Layout Editor
