Found only one and never seen another. It says "Ver 1" and has analog RCA outputs. Any information about this one?

From what I remember (and this was a long time ago) the original DTL-H700 had problems when used with certain Macs that had a high bus speed - the DTL-H700A was the revised one that fixed this. They are often found new in box because by the time they came out most of the current Macs were PCI and people used the DTL-H800 instead (which was a PCI card that also worked in PCs).

H700 ver.1 have nubus issue ( about 25 or 33 bus speed bug) , it fix after ver.2

And changed output to optical at the same time?

I don't think any version of the DTL-H700 ever supported optical output. I'm not 100% sure because we never actually used them due to a lack of compatible Macs. The DTL-H800 definitely has optical output on a Toslink jack - in fact, it only had optical output because I can remember the sound guy getting pretty annoyed about that. When he first turned up, he was given a brand new Power Mac (which used PCI) and the DTL-H700 board which was useless since he couldn't plug it in to his machine. When we finally got the PCI board that could plug in, he couldn't connect it to his sound desk because it was digital-only. So we had to rush out and get a TOSlink DAC before he could work.

Was there ever any optical output on the DTL-H700? I can't remember seeing one, just the RCA jacks, but I never looked that closely because it was effectively unusable in our setup.

All regular DTL-H700 and DTL-H800 have optical output. This DTL-H700A is the only known card with analog RCA outputs.

I guess we must have had the DTL-H700A then - I honestly never looked at it much because it ended up tossed on the "unusable junk" shelf due to the lack of compatible machines.

i have both the H700 and the ultra rare H800 PCI (was released at the end of PS1 timeline with the H1500 network test box). But the driver from sony for this pieces are very beta near impossible to use. The H800 was also planed for PC-Win95 usage, but only unfinished beta driver..

The DTL-H800 is not ultra rare but not very common. More than 550 of them were made. I have one complete boxed and I know at least two more complete boxed + several incomplete. There were at least two versions of DTL-H800 by the way. I have a bit earlier card than yours. :)

There was Japanese DTL-S810 software for it but it's extremely rare. I don't have it yet.

Aren't the drivers part of the Sound Artist Tools?

Heh, I know two more sealed sets. ASSEMbler sold them without their original envelopes but in the past he said that he had some envelopes. He was lazy to check but now there is no way to contact him.

No opened copies to dump anyway. And I don't think that they have something DTL-H800 related anyway.

I tested now the Sound Artist Tool for PS2 package, but there are no h800 driver include.
So i started JAM on my mac, connected a Midi keyboard.
For my understanding is JAM just a tool to load a Midi Bank into the H800 what is pretty cool, but there is no driver or anything.
I also dont know how big the midi bank can uploaded. Its like a Soundblaster AWE with RAM extension.
I can be wrong, was just a quick look but there is not really much include..
So without S810 i see no chance to get sound out of the H800..
The S810 installed the H800 as a Sound card on the mac, what make it able to use with third party DAWs like protools.

It was, but not sure if its work because i got no error or ok after upload a bank, same for the debugging option. You also can choose the midi i/o what i did, but thats it. I think as i say you need the board installed with driver for sending midi notes to the h800 for output audio
