ObscureGamers is in talks to secure 22 Hard Drives from the defunct company Data Design Interactive. Sadly 9 of these need specialist repair services to access data as many have seized up or are clicking/not powering.

The cost of the drives is $1000 USD but it'll cost much more to repair. Once the first $1000 is covered images for the working drives will be released. Anything after this is towards repair / recovery costs.

We're waiting on quotes on this so for now we've put a goal as $2500 plus $250 in Paypal fee's as a buffer giving us a total of $2750.

If you're able to help let us know! Thank you.

The Ko-Fi link is: https://ko-fi.com/obscuregamers which you can donate via.

Just a minor update, we've hit 37% of the goal meaning the HDD's are now secured (minus repair/recovery costs).

Due to some of these having NSFW content or information/photos of developers/their families/children etc we will be removing this content out of respect.

All games/source/documents/tools/sdk's will be released in batches once any personal information is removed. Some files will need renaming due to being deleted so the batches will be every week.

A Special thank you to everybody that donated but a real special thank goes to @JacobLenstar for helping us reach this goal by donating not once but twice!

Hey, I just wanted to repeat a request here that I made to MrPinball earlier: Please release everything as one large dump eventually rather than separate it by game or genre! From a few previews, a lot of the unnamed files are Lego related but aren't named as such, because Lego Rock Raiders had a lot of non-Lego elements. For example we've noticed there are several particle effects, UI elements, model textures and a completely new biome, all incredibly valuable, that you'd only know are Lego related if you are a Rock Raiders nerd. Therefore, giving the Rock Raiders community a possibility to look through it all, unfiltered (but with personal/NSFW stuff removed of course), would be of great value to us!

Hoping this reaches full funding soon, we're more than halfway there already. Are you planning on sending drives off to repairs as the fundraiser grows or will you wait until it hits 100%?

It's upto what the users wish really, we do need to remove alot of personal information as mentioned above that has landed on these drives. The plan was to release batches by drive/hdd with any personal information/photos/videos removedfor privacy/security reasons.

We're in talks of getting quotes to repair the other drives as we speak so fingers crossed they would do a deal on all drives.

As mentioned on our discord the other day we may be able to secure another 5 HDD's on top making this a grand total of 27 drives. This is already in talks in private so fingers crossed these contain more lego content for you all to research :)

As Dink stated above, the DDI stuff is still very much active and taking some time. Data recovery (at the level that Dink and co. have had to work with, anyway!) is a very time consuming and hair-pulling process. Please continue to be patient, the DDI data will be released when possible.
