For the past year I've been doing random backups of public content from AssemblerGames.

Hopefully between the multiple we have a complete history saved incase the worst happens.

March 11th 2018 WGET: https://archive.org/details/AssemblerGamesWGETMay-11th-2018
June 5th 2018 WGET: https://archive.org/details/AssemblerGamesWgetJune-05-2018
Dec 12th 2018 HTTRACK: https://mega.nz/#!ldFUhALQ!kkaUOLoW8bH4Suq4ZEOGtxZdHHJLBuNVaK0s5dH2hao (From Nemesis thank you!) (The-Eye.EU Mirror thanks @reminon for spotting!
http://the-eye.eu/public/Site-Dumps/assemblergames.com_2018-12-12.7z)
May 29th 2019 HTTRACK: Archive in progress.
May 29th 2019 WGET: https://archive.org/details/AssemblerGames.comWGETMay292019
May 30th 2019: ArchiveTeam/Archive.org archive in progress, unknown eta.
June 02nd 2019 Alpha Crawler Database RIP: In progress.
June 04th 2019 Nemesis HTTRACK: https://www.obscuregamers.com/threads/assemblergames-backups.23/post-1272
June 04th 2019 Nemesis HTTRACK Archive.org Mirror: https://archive.org/details/AssemblerGames.com-Httrack-June-04th-2019-Nemesis

The 0th Bit backup will likely be intergrated in the Alpha Crawler rip once finished.

This won't contain PM's/IP info, it's literally everything big Google see's.

Damien, wget can use a cookie from a session on AG to be able to scrape data from any non-public content.

I don't think the 0th bit needs to be publicly accessible up front. Might be something to cultivate.

There's a reason it was invite only.

0th bit was a hidden section for older members, had current gen/other bits removed from the main site and had been dead for ages, think it had like 4 pages of posts tops.

Is there any way we could use that to get edit history as well?

If a logged in user can view the edit history of a post, I don't see why not.

I did a Full mirror of AssemblerGames less than 6 months back. I'll be doing another one in the next few days. I can easily mirror the "0th bit" content at the same time, but I'd need someone who has access to volunteer giving me access to their account on assemblergames to do the scrape. I don't have access to that section.

Was hoping that some script magic could bring back the original state of this thread.

Was the Zelda thread part of the 0th bit or is there accompanying info in the 0th bit? Never even knew that it existed

In Brazil we have an interesting scene of sega and nintendo enthusiasts, we know the end of assemblergame, we are mobilizing to try to save what can of the forum in order to preserve the memory of the forum, we are in panic with the end of the forum and without understanding because hell he was not asked for a contribution to keep the forum active, to cover its costs, anyway, we are sad but hopeful that something will be done and that these 25 years of content will be preserved, we hope this is the new home of the assemblers and that the occurred in the forum is not repeated here, if there is a need the community will contribute to the hosting, I think it is valid and fair.

0th Bit is archived, not sure if the person who sent wants a public mention so I left anon for now. I'll try editing it into the HTTRACK backup once that finishes. Thank you again!

I just want to make sure no personal info/logins are posted in it first before releasing.

Sadly not, I can only crawl public content that is seen logged out. :(
That's okay. There wasn't that much worth bothering with in that section either. Funny thing, when we quit being mods we were kicked out of the 0 bit section.

Haha yeah, I remember there not being much. Mostly drama threads/really old posts. A user has copied all the content so we have it just incase :D
