PS1 psone slim laser issues

I have a psone that 'out of the blue' decided that it won't boot any discs. I borrowed the laser assembly of another slim with a known working, but it still won't boot.
This specific console had leaking caps that I replaced them. Everything was working fine, until recently.
Is it a fuse issue?
