I started this project for the lol as I thought about running the retail pre-ipl code on my development unit, I thought I might add this to my (somewhat ever extensive?) contributions list.

What do you mean? A kbooti is just an IPL with an extra encrypted pre-ipl 0x1000 part on the top, so if you strip that part the IPL (unless it's from 0.6 or older, but there are ways to run these too) will load fine from a psp-1000 unit.

Obviously you can't run the decrypted pre-ipl parts on retail units without some serious hacking/patching involved, I don't see the point though.
