So I'm building my FrankenXenon alpha and I just cannot get Tiger to install on it.

I have partitioned my usb 2.0 as Apple Partition Map with Mac OS Extended and restored the .dmg image.

The partition number is 1 and the tree path is below in the pic.

Whenever I create an alias to the path to the usb and try to see the directory contents, it just says "can't OPEN the DIR device".

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

Wonder if the USB device is too new to be recognized by OpenFirmare (USB 3.0 .etc). I never had any luck getting my USB drives to boot on my G5s because of this. Was always easier to burn a DVD or use target disk mode on another mac.

G5 can boot by firewire ,internal device channel and network , but no usb

there is easy way save burn dvd , put small hdd in G5 or Partition small 1 ,restore osx dmg on there , done :)
