Howdy, forums.

This is my first time posting and did so by the nudging of some folks from a partner archive group, The Eye, as they specialize in other forms of preservation.

I'm going out on a limb asking if anyone's been able to archive a full PS3 client from the PlayStation Store or PC client of a popular MMO from around the early 2010s/late 2000s known as Free Realms. There is an ongoing preservation effort and server emulation project called "Open Source Free Realms" for folks who have played back in the day, and it is wholly open source and coded in C#.

Nonetheless, their preservation project is about 95% completion, the only things missing are some out of bounds maps and a couple of niche features.

My own research has led me to a partially complete PS3 client open on github, some installation software from myrient.erista, and some leftovers from the internet archive, so far everything I have found, the project already has. I was hoping to ask here, and I know it may not be the right place but it is absolutely a shot in the dark. The data we have is from bits and pieces of clients previously submitted over the years, and while we have most of the stuff for a playable experience, server development is slow-going, but I'm taking it upon myself to see about getting that other 5% to complete our preservation effort.

How Free Realms worked was that it was half-browser based and the other half by way of streaming assets and downloading them from a server. Sony Online Entertainment/Daybreak in this case. PlayStation 3's way of getting assets was by way of traditional bulk updates, a one-time download.

Again, I know this is not easy pickings and probably not the right place, and I'm sure as heck an outsider, but I was hoping someone would know where to lead me next.
