I have a Dreamcast that is displaying incorrectly (see photos). The photos show the image via RGB scart, I have tested it with a composite cable and get no image. It works fine via my VGA cable, so I am thinking it is an issue with composite video and composite sync as the VGA uses the separate horizontal and vertical sync signals.

Looks like its somehow being stuck in VGA mode? Would explain why composite doesn't work and why RGB is showing doubled pixel data.

I didn't look at it that way (duh). So VGA select (pin 6) on the AV out socket is somehow always connected to ground even when another output cable is used?

The VGA select pin isn't connected to ground, unless the grounding happens when the console is receiving power?
