Aiwa Mega CD Questions

Seeking your help with these questions.

Regarding the Aiwa Mega CD.

1) Does it use an AV Cable similar to the Sega Genesis/Mega drives?

2) Can it play Sega Mega Drive games with just batteries? Or it requires the AC Supply? And is the AC supply a universal 2-pin cable?
