Demon is the tech guy behind Prototopia and the original founder of ObscureGamers.com, If it breaks it's normally my fault so please send abuse my way if needed.
I'm dedicated to preservation on all levels, having managed to do many important preservation projects.
Below is a list of projects I've helped with/ran.
2015, Bought XboxModders.com and renamed it ObscureGamers.com in early 2016 when AssemblerGames.com went offline due to a breach of the servers security.
2016, released the first ever Wii RVT-R disc dumps without the use of Wii developer hardware. (Further sending the custom drive made by Credier to Bad_Ad to clone.)
2016, released the earliest known Crackdown builds for X360, along with a ton of Sonic builds for 360 getting noted on sites such as https://sonic.fandom.com/wiki/Sonic_Unleashed for sharing a preview build with lost/removed levels.
2017, Released over 300GB of builds, including the first ever SEGA PICO Source Code seen online.
2018, Was donated an XBOX ONE Alpha Kit (Durango) by a former developer who drove 300 miles to deliver it in person. This system was later restored into fully working order and donated to a private museum.
Left ObscureGamers.com as owner and passed it onto MorphicSn0w, Due to trolls and rude users it was decided to close it.
September 2018, Seeing things not going to plan with AssemblerGames.com me and Morphic decided to build Prototopia.net as a private forum for mature preservationists.
With the help of many months of work from GerbilSoft I released the first ever RVT-H Wii dumps.
Founded the ProjectXe XBOX 360 Alpha G5 kit restoration project, The goal being to restore the system into working order.
Opened Prototopia.net up to vetted members in late 2018.
Pending Project: 50TB Project, over 80 developer kits, thousands of discs to be dumped by myself and a major private collector. ETA unknown, but I intend to make a video of the project highlights.
In the mean time I randomly post site updates and continue to research stuff.
With the recent lack of care in some sites and the inability to even join to get help, we have decided to open the doors to people that need our help or wish to contribute to the efforts.
Upon registration, you will receive a message asking for additional information about the projects you have worked on and the communities you are in. While you don't have to answer these, it would make the validation process easier.
The purpose of this community is to teach and help people in the general preservation effort on video games. We intend to make this place enjoyable for everyone and avoid people who scam, hack or exhibit toxic behaviour.
So I am totally against Shadowboot, as it's normally used by clueless kids who are destroying history contained on HDD's but this one I'll allow as it can help us preserve retail discs if you don't have a DVD drive. This was passed on to be shared as people don't understand the do not share requests.
This will not enable you to play online, we don't allow rubbish like that here.
As you're all aware, we had a long discussion about the future of the site a few months back and we decided that it's not worth keeping up. The scene was crashing due to all the childish people, the scammers, the people attacking game developers along with the influx of idiots who damage preservation and what it stands for.
We feel all information should be archived. It was decided to make an HTML archive of OG and release, but due to how XenForo works we couldn't get the CSS working as the file had letters Windows/Linux wouldn't allow so we tried fixing but gave up.
We're releasing the OG archive as is, the CSS is broken, but the posts that are public should all be here. anything that was private, such as builds which were contributor rank only, have not been backed up in this archive. Pretty much this archive is what google/guests could see.
